The teams did really well at the H&P Care Area Competition. Rebecca, Emily and Elizabeth came 6th and Todd, Marcus and Ellie came 8th out of the junior teams. The members all enjoyed the day and confidently answered all the questions and tasks well, thanks to Frances Murray for all her effort at trainings to bring them up to speed.

DRESSAGE WINTER LEAGUE

Our series of Dressage Competitions culminated in the Winter League Final, held again at Lordsbridge on Saturday 3 April. Georgie Horrell again pulled off a magnificent feat of organisation - and, although she will shortly hand over the dressage reins to Tracyann Neville and Maley Lloyd, she will still be very much in the background helping them! Thank you, Georgie, and congratulations to all who competed, not just those who won rosettes and Easter eggs! Full results will be posted shortly.

CHPC HOSTS DENGIE AREA DRESSAGE

Saturday's Dengie Area Dressage competition at Lordsbridge went off well, with an excellent field of competitors, judged by Clare Day (Preliminary 10) and Carolyn Davis (Dengie Novice and Open). Well done to all the CHPC members who competed - we were proud of you. Many thanks to all who assisted with stewarding, writing and scoring. Thank you too to Pauline Coster, our Area Representative, who presided over the day with flair and calm experience. And of course thank you to Malcolm Buckingham and Lordsbridge for having us. Area Quiz

Our branch fielded two teams for the Area Quiz qualifiers - and we also hosted one of the Area Quiz heats at Comberton Village Hall! One of our teams was placed 3rd, and the other 5th, so we don't go forward to the final this time - but it was a good practice for next year, and a good time was had by all! Many thanks to Sarah Algar, Lorna Wing, and all their helpers for a wonderfully organised event, and good refreshments - and especial thanks to Ali Schwabe, our Question Master, who made it all such fun! And well done, and well tried, to the teams!

February Half Term

Flying Cats, Eventing, Pancakes and Road Safety, Badges, Tests, Mounted Games!

Phew! What a half term! Rallies took place in the pouring rain, freezing cold and snow, but no one cared! Lots of members took tests and won badges, we had eventing with Val Gingell, course walks with successful local event rider Phoebe Buckley, games, unmounted study while the DC and Rally Organiser sweated over a hot stove (120 + pancakes were consumed!) and more! On the only free day in the week, showjumping training was crammed in. Back to school for a rest, before the Easter holidays - when we have more exciting events planned - not least our branch Combined Training Competition at Harlton!

Red Rosettes on Valentine's Day for Junior Girls

Hattie Algar, Emma Butler, Rebecca Page, and Emily Procter, represented CHPC in the Fitzwilliam Triathlon on 14 February at Oundle. Emily got the team off to a great start in the shooting, scoring a fantastic 900 out of a possible 1000 and Rebecca scored 880, her best ever shoot score.
The run of 1500m, was very muddy and slippery, but the whole team ran well, with Hattie achieving the fastest run time in the class, of 5m47s.
The team were lying 2nd after the first two phases and, with just the swim to go, they all worked really hard, in a very long 50 yard pool, to remain in 2nd overall. Hattie also won 2nd place individually.
Unfortunately, they missed out on the chocolates as only the winning team got them!! However, we all look forward to next time when we will hopefully have some team kit so we all look smarter for the prizegiving! Congratulations are due especially to Emma as it was her first ever competition and she was a great new member of the team.
